Islamic Studies Teacher – Islamic Weekend School

Work Location: Islamic Society of Orange County, Garden Grove, CA
Work Hours: Sundays 9:30am – 1:30pm, during the school year
Compensation:  Starting at $10 / hour
Grades Open:  Potential openings for both younger and older grades


The Islamic Weekend School is an innovative, unique educational and social institution committed to building well-rounded Muslims. We are seeking Islamic Studies teachers to complete our faculty for the upcoming school year.  The teacher is the role model and mentor of children and should aim to lead students to discover the beauty of Islam, with the intent of applying knowledge into beneficial actions. Join us and contribute to the success of our children’s Islamic education.


  • Engage students by using a variety of teaching strategies and methods
  • Teach subject material using approved curriculum and lesson plans
  • Prepare lesson plans in a thorough manner before class
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the age level you teach
  • Attend regular professional development seminars and staff trainings
  • Regularly attend a pre-approved Islamic education course
  • Maintain consistent communication with students, parents, and staff
  • Maintain professionalism in all interactions with students, parents, and staff


  • Teaching experience preferred
  • Exemplify strong Islamic character and possess sound knowledge of Islam
  • Fluency in verbal and written communication in English
  • Excel under expectations of high performance and continual improvement
  • Possess exceptional critical and creative thinking skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students

Lunch Coordinator/Office Assistant – Orange Crescent School

Work Location: Orange Crescent School, Garden Grove, CA
Work Hours: 7:30am – 1pm M-F, Part-time, 25-28 hours per week,
Compensation:  $12/hour


Lunch Coordinator/Office Assistant is a day to day support with lunch orders and school office needs.


  • Manage lunch orders and call vendor to make orders
  • Bill students in Sycamore for lunch
  • Deliver cash to Accounting office and  file receipts
  • Monitor campus during lunch hours and have visitors sign in and receive a badge
  • Report any suspicious activities by students or adults immediately to Principal/Vice Principal
  • Attend to parents, visitors, who walk into the office for various reasons
  • Respond to teacher, staff and parent requests
  • File and organize student records
  • Answer phone calls
  • Attend to sick/injured students when they come to office (check temperature, give ice, bandages and call parent as needed
  • Assist with school-wide events
  • Sort and distribute mail
  • Monitor class until substitute arrives as needed
  • Other duties as assigned


  • High school diploma
  • Experience working with children strongly preferred
  • Experience with Word, Excel, and online database
  • Strong communication/ social skills with ability to articulate in English
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Team player and ability to take initiative
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Quran Teacher – Islamic Society of Orange County

Work Location: Islamic Society of Orange County, Garden Grove, CA
Work Hours: Weekdays after school
Compensation:  Depending on experience
Grades Open: Preschool to 8th grade levels


This Quran teacher role serves the community and helps students to learn subject matter and skills which will lead toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual growth. This position directs and evaluates the learning experiences of the students in activities sponsored by ISOC.


  • Teach students to read Quran with proper Tajweed
  • Help students memorize Surahs using creativity and memorizing strategies
  • Develop a desire to study Quran through positive reinforcements
  • Evaluate each student and create teaching strategies based on the individual’s pace
  • Tracking progress of each child and maintain records.
  • Conducts other duties as assigned by ISOC President


  • Formal 3-4 years of education in Quran, Hafiz of Quran preferred.
  • 2-3 years of teaching experience to various ages in a large group
  • Must have knowledge of Makharij and tajweed and be able to teach it to the students.
  • Demonstrate sound understanding of the Quran and good command of English
  • Must be able to teach all ages (ages 5-14)
  • Demonstrate a sincere desire to aide all students.
  • Good health, high moral character, and good attendance record
  • Must be legally authorized to work in United States. Experience working with children strongly preferred
